For every reason war is bad that comes into people's minds... the obvious ones... there are other casualties not thought about.
Wars usually mean refugees. The U.S. takes in more refugees than any other country, which is good. However, there is still a limit we take in, and those affected by war with good reason kicked to the top of the list.
If this conflict does lead to refugees coming to America, it would mean people from places like Honduras and Haiti that regularly that regularly come to America to simply stay alive forced further down the list.
The war in Ukraine and the withdrawal from Afghanistan have already seen major disruptions for the past few years.
The point is, it is important to remember that while it is important to have peace in that region for the people in that region, the effects will reverberate across the globe.
So, yes, Peace prevailing on Earth is very much an operative concept.
The misery of war is not only tragic, but impossible to contain. Peace is of global interest, not national.
I presume it is the current Israeli/Hamas issues.
