MORE SHENANIGANS

Had another great conversation with Adam Chapman of the Comics Shenanigan podcast—talking about Spider-Man '94, Dr. Fate, Moonshadow, and lots of other things. You can listen to it right here. Enjoy!

  1. And soon...
you will be talking about that period comic of yours set in the early 60s, where The Thing and Hal Jordan have a night on the town in Vegas, no supervillains or cosmic threats, but they do catch Sinatra at The Sands.

The true Dematteis magnum opus. Followed by Spider-Man and Robin arguing about the Beatles vs. the Rolling Stones, Captain America and Superman in 1941 listening to a Woody Guthrie album while waiting in a waiting room on orders from Uncle Sam, Wonder Woman and Thing falling in love to Marvin Gaye and Tammy Terrel duets, and of course Daredevil and Blue Beetle talking about how Tony Stark is a tin-eared snob for not liking Johnny Cash while they wait for a bus.

Of course, the sequels will just be Marvel and DC trying to mile the Thing/GL epic.

PPS! SORRY@! I just gave away all of 2026 for you.

    4. How long could a Dmeatteis penned story set in the 60s about two superheroes going to see Sinatra be? two-three hundred pages.

I just wonder if Ben or Hal will get drunk enough to start actually telling old Blue Eyes what spring is like on Jupiter and Mars.

    6. I prefer to think a drunk and star struck Hal Jordan start trying to describe it to Sinatra.

Which in turn freaks Sinatra out, and says "get him off the stage now."
Hal of course yell, "o, I love you blue eyes, I can show you the moon."
so Sinatra obviously says, "rough him up Jersey style, boys."

I also like to think that on the way there Hal tells Bnen about how he and Ollie saw Dean Martin in Star City, and Ollie called the show "a creeping moral cancer."

and Ben asks, "he didn't like it?" then Hal says, God no, he LOVED the show. he was calling for encores all night. He just calls things 'a creeping moral cancer.' Last Christmas he called candy canes a creeping moral cancer."
