I don't know if I will revisit ICEMAN--it's such a weird, wonderful tale in my mind I'd hate to be let down!

To quote Chesterton, "A child of seven is excited by being told that Tommy opened a door and saw a dragon. But a child of three is excited by being told that Tommy opened a door."

It was my first experience with Paradox and a lot of Cosmic ideas.

My problem, David, is that I look back on lots of my early work and only see the warts. That said, there was a lot of crazy, cosmic stuff going on in that mini; so I can't fault it for lack of ambition or imagination.

And I'm only partially joking about ICEMAN. I found that mini strangely fascinating (and terrifying) as a boy. Haven't revisited it since except in my mind. But even if I bought the new hardcover and discovered it wasn't as powerful as I originally thought, I'm still pretty sure it was the first thing I ever read by you.

That in itself is worth a lot!

I remember this story. Thanks for sharing it again. Have you seen "The Ghosts of Christmas Eve" DVD special from the Trans-Siberian Orchestra? It's turned into my annual tradition to watch. Great music and visuals and a sweet story. Also stars the late-great Ossie Davis. Really nice. Merry Christmas, JM, to you and the family!
