Old comic strips, 80's graphic novels, 50's Kirby comics, all of the Howard the Duck stories that matter and a near complete run of the Defenders just to name a few, all in print and available at the click of a mouse.Coryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06037855799774656106noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4193334913733210326.post-72225278308639440902011-06-02T07:02:35.180-04:002011-06-02T07:02:35.180-04:00You're very welcome, Dru.

Sin...Definitely on my Top 3 of your works as well! Since you mentioned Moonshadow, I'm doing a daily issue-by-issue re-read and in #8 there seems to be a missing bit of dialogue. A page and scene begins with Moon's uncle telling him "Do neither--or better, do both(paraphrase)" but that page is preceeded by an unrelated scene so I have no idea what Moon is asking in relation to that. This is in the original Epic comis and hardcover Graphitti edition. Was it changed for Vertigo? Do you have any notion what happened or was supposed to after all these years? Thanks for your kind indulgence as always and I hope the B&B episode wasn't pulled so they can put in an "it's all an hallucination" ending again!! At least they didn't do it with the Doom Patrol story!Jeff Zoslawnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4193334913733210326.post-42489068222166405052011-05-31T11:44:34.827-04:002011-05-31T11:44:34.827-04:00Thanks, David. When the chemistry is right -- and there's no way to CREATE chemistry, it just happens -- some genuine magic can often result.

And I also agree that I can't imagine those stories you mention being brought to life by anyone other than those artists. Same for Glenn with BROOKLYN DREAMS and, among others, Mike Ploog with ABADAZAD.J.M. Sometimes a great work even comes about because of creative tension; Lee/Ditko and Lee/Kirby seemed at the peak of their collaborative powers when their visions were at their most antagonistic. There's a hundred different ways the dynamic could go, and that's part of the excitment.

I tend to think that Zeck, Buscema, and Bagley did their best work with you; and on the flip side,I can't imagine anyone else bringing KLH, SSM 200, or ASM 400 to life. You elevated each other's work to new heights.

I'm not familiar with Glenn's other work, so I can't speak to how it stands in comparison, but it's a sight to behold in BD.David Waltonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12087646905757912129noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4193334913733210326.post-73213975441080794952011-05-31T11:06:20.689-04:002011-05-31T11:06:20.689-04:00One of your best books.
