BRAZIL!

Back from Brazil, jet lagged and very grateful for the incredible experience my wife and I had at the CCXP convention, which just may be the biggest convention in the world (yes, even bigger than San Diego). Huge thanks to the amazing Ivan Costa and his incredible, generous staff...Alexandre, Daniel, and Bruno of Pipoca & Nanquim (publishers of Moonshadow and Blood), who were such warmhearted hosts...and, most of all, to the extraordinary Brazilian fans, whose enthusiasm, sincerity, and big hearts touched us deeply. A magical trip!

Here's a video from my writing masterlcass. You can find many more CCXP videos over at my Youtube channel. Aproveitar!

  1. I hope you enjoyed your time in Brazil, Mr DeMatteis.

By the way, I can hardly wait for the next issue of "Spider-Man '94" next week; just in time for Christmas' Eve.

In case you will be out for the holidays, I want to wish you and your beloved ones: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

  2. Mr DeMatteis, in case you are interested, Monkeys Fighting Robots already posted the preview of "Spider-Man '94 #4"; and it looks really promising!!

However... Mayor Fisk?! Oh, boy! Bad, bad! This gives me vibes from "Devil's Reign".

Well, this certainly will give you material to prolong the series if they give you green light (which they better do). Mixing stories from back in the 90s with current ones certainly have lot of potential.

  3. Fine Dematteis, since you are one of these weirdos who like reading about good people, ere you go, a story form my neck of the woods.

(I said neck of the woods, because I know you get home sick for your rural upbringing in Brooklyn this time of year, and I thought that would help)

  4. Mr DeMatteis, I have seen one of the Alternative Covers for the next issue in a "Knullified Cover", showing Knull in the artstyle of "Spider-Man: The Animated Series". Its design is really impressing!

Do you think it would be possible to use Knull in this series? Or maybe it's too dark? I mean, it was possible to use Carnage, but Knull was maybe even too dark.

By the way, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
