HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AMERICA!

  1. I can't claim that everything my country has done has pleased me. But, end of the day, I still wouldn't want to live anywhere else, I revel in my freedom's, I am ecstatic over my right to voice my displeasure, I am proud of its vast accomplishments for its citizens and the whole of humanity, I love that we always strive to be better.
We are the largest exporters of food in the world, we give more foreign aide than anyone, we spread freedom, we correct and cop to our injustices, we congured the world not at the point of a sword or the barrel of a gun, but made the world fall in love with our culture and people.

In the 1940s we dropped food to a Western Europe that was starving, after having been at war with them only a short time before.

We help our enemies rebuild. We atone for sins. We consider a country becoming free a victory.

No matter the aisle politically, today, let everyone regardless of of religion, race, age, gender, political view, whatever... let all decent people lucky enough to call themselves Americans say, "Goddamn, it is great to be a citizen of the United States of America."

And may we never forget the responsibility of maintain the good and correcting the wrong that every citizen must claim as their own
