SEMI-REGULAR MUSINGS FROM THE SEMI-REGULAR MIND OF WRITER J.M. DeMATTEIS
Enjoyed the interview. Thanks for posting!Probably goes without saying, but I'd love to see you writing the classic core JLA team. I think your talent for characterization would serve the book well, since the book typically resists changes (which are reserved for the solo titles). You've deepened characters you couldn't change in some interesting ways. The backup story you did for ASM 700 comes to mind, but I know there are others. Anyway, I think the classic Justice League is one of those books that's always been really challenging for any writer, but I suspect you'd be up to the task. --David
I'd be happy to give it a while, David, but I really don't see it happening. One of the reasons why I'm so happy I was part of JUSTICE LEAGUE UNLIMITED where I got to play with those wonderful toys!
There's a more recent book Justice League of America that has the following roster; Batman, The Atom (The new one), Killer Frost, Lobo, Vixen, The Ray and Black Canary. It's been a pretty good book, but I'd like to see what you could do with this team.
That's what I thought when I started buying the book. They also do something new in that they solve the conflict and then up things to help people after the initial conflict has been resolved. Batman formed the team to give a more street level League for people to look to for help.
Sounds like a smart, fun book.
