Stumbled across this fan-made motion comic of the Doctor Strange: Into Shamballa graphic novel I did way back when with my friend Dan Green and it's very impressive. This is part one, but it should easily link you to the rest.
Now if only our friends at Marvel will get this book (one of my all-time favorite Marvel projects) back in print!
I've never read it and I can't find a copy at a decent price! I've heard great things and it's odd that this hasn't been reprinted or found its way to digital format.
ReplyDeleteMaybe there will an explosion of Doctor Strange material when the second film comes out.

I was hoping that would happen with the FIRST movie!
DeleteThis motion comic is the entire graphic novel, word for word, so you can at least get a sense of what it is.
Thanks. I'll check it out!

Enjoy!
DeleteAll I know is I was at a comic show a few years ago, and some jerk wrote his name on my copy.
ReplyDeleteFunny, that graphic novel was so cheap, for so long, and then the movie came out and it sky-rocketed in price. I don't think it has anything to do with the film either.

What happened was that the director, Scott Derekson, tweeted a number of images from INTO SHAMBALLA, folks decided that was the basis for the movie and then the price skyrocketed.
DeleteAnd actually the movie lifts a number of images from the gn and there's the great "Shamballa" gag/tribute which, if you haven't seen it, I won't spoil.
