SEMI-REGULAR MUSINGS FROM THE SEMI-REGULAR MIND OF WRITER J.M. DeMATTEIS
While I was enjoying my social media vacation (yes, I'm back), I had the pleasure of taking part in a podcast honoring my old pal, the great and powerful Tom DeFalco. You can watch it below.
Probably smart to leave out the bullying...sorry hazing... you,he and DeZaggo did to Mackie because he was the only SPider-writer without "de" in his name.I always thought that DeFalco's F.F. was underappreciated. Especially some of the later stories. A casualty of the bubble bursting I suppose.Jack
Tom is a great storyteller and, if memory serves, his FF run sold very well.
Well, I hope it sold well. However, I meant more psychologically. It seems anything being published during or after the bubble burst is forgotten at best, and hated at worst. Which is weird, because I don't think the creative teams were pushing speculator markets directly. That having been said, the common view is that all the books that put in Heroes Reborn were not selling at all. Something I hear more from fans than those working at the time.As I said, I liked the run.Jack
