In less than a week, the final issue of Spider-Man: The Lost Hunt hits shops. It's a three-way showdown between Spidey, Gregor, and Aja Orisha. No, make that four way—because Mary Jane isn't one to stand on the sidelines.
I've had a blast with this series and I hope you enjoy our concluding chapter. (Will there be more new Spidey tales ahead for me? Time will tell...)
Let me get that straight.
ReplyDeleteWhat you are saying is, because it has The Human Target, Captain Kirk, Vanessa Fisk, Odo, Alicia Masters, Jenkins, Anne from Vertigo's Lucifer, Victoria Hand, Moon Girl's grandfather, SHIELD agent Rosalind Price, Fury, and Dr. Daniel Jackson, Boston Legal is all a sub dimension created as part of some comics Crisis? Some kind of fake world trapping folks for some reason during some crossover event?
I am sorry Dematteis, I am going to have to disagree with you on this one. This theory of yours is too out there .
Jack
Well, then, I won't argue about it.
DeleteThankyou so much for this five issue gift sir, it was a pleasure to read, I'm so happy for the depiction of Mary Jane also, you've always been one of the best craftsman of her character. I too greatly anticipate the announcement of your next Spidey project, whatever it might be, it will make mine marvel! March on merrily, and keep hunting!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you enjoyed it, Zarius! There will be more Spidey in the future, but nothing I can talk about yet!
DeleteAlso...your kind words about the Millar interview were accidentally deleted (I hit the wrong button!), but they were read and appreciated! And, yes, Mark seems like a truly good guy. I really enjoyed our talk.
DeleteOops, butterfingers, rofl, that's OK sir, human error is what makes us all so three-dimensional and we craft that into our characters!
DeleteI absoltuely love Lost Hunt, i am going to miss it a lot honestly it has been my favorite spider-man book of this year! I liked it so much i got two art pieces based off it by talented artists i hope you like it https://imgur.com/a/bQfo3Jt
ReplyDeleteThanks so much. Glad you enjoyed the book. And I LOVED the art!
DeleteIts well deserved, that book has been enjoyable. Cant wait to see what the next one is! Loved the Ben Reilly book too!
DeleteAnd thanks the artists are robdraw and exeixevier both super talented and cool!
I tip my hat to them both!
DeleteI'm sure they'll appreciate it a ton! Exeivier also included a moment from last hunt in a peter/mj commission i got, since i think its one of their most tender ones.https://imgur.com/a/fIWoAcH
DeleteNice!
DeleteJust dropping by to say thank you. I hope you stick with us spider-folk in the future
ReplyDeleteYou're very welcome...and that's the plan!
DeleteI loved this and your Ben Reilly mini. I was just wondering if you would ever return back to the Ben Reilly character considering he’s one of my favorites and I’m one of the very few who liked the Clone Saga era. :)
ReplyDeleteActually, there are a LOT of Ben fans out there (and I, of course, am one of them). I'd love to return to the character, perhaps doing a series that dips back into the LOST YEARS saga. Many untold tales there. But, in the end, that's Marvel's call, not mine.
DeleteSir, how soon be issued your new Marvel comics?
ReplyDeleteThe new projects I'm working on won't be out till much later in the year. Thanks for asking!
DeleteSir, and what about new DC comics (yours)?
DeleteNothing new in the DC pipeline.
DeleteHave you tried writing to editors DC and pitching your ideas/new comics? I just like ur comics :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I'm sure I'll be working for DC again. In the meantime, there are 40+ years of my DC stories out there to explore!
DeleteThis may be controversial, but...
ReplyDeleteDenny O'Neil, Len Wein, and Mark Gruenwald were all talented creators, no doubt, but I think their more valuable contributions to the medium of comics were as editors.
Keep in mind that this is coming from a guy who thinks he 'Neil is shortchanged for how much he did to rebuild Batman into what he is, thinks Squadron Supreme is unfairly overlooked, and is annoyed people pretend Swamp Thing did not get provoking until Moore wrote the book.
Your hero,
Jack
There's a lot to me said for that POV. All were superb writers, but equally superb editors who expanded their impact in the industry through the talents they nurtured and the books they edited.
DeleteMan, what a great mini series overall. Thank you for writing more adventures of a Married Peter and MJ.
DeleteYou're welcome!
DeleteI just want to say thank you for writing such a wonderful mini series. A pity that Peter and MJ aren't currently together in the comics but at least we have this. I pray to whatever higher power there is that we get more Spider-man comics like this.
ReplyDeleteThe second issue brough a tear to my eye with its refrain of "Mary Jane I love you."
Thanks! So glad you enjoyed it!
DeleteAre you still working on spider-man later this year or magneto mini was the project you were alluding to?
ReplyDeleteMagneto is the one for this year. But I suspect there will be more Spidey in 2024!
DeleteDo you prefer Spider-Man married or single?
ReplyDeleteAs you might be able to tell from my stories, I'm a BIG fan of the marriage. Love the Peter-MJ dynamic. That said, I also enjoy telling stories set back in the day when Peter was a teenager just figuring out his life as Spidey.
DeleteI think the marriage works because it's another step of Peter gaining more responsibility as he gets older. Which fits the character. MJ is a wonderful character when written well, which you do in spades.
DeleteI only wish that Marvel Editoral would bring the marriage back full time.
Everything in comics is cyclical. I suspect the marriage will return one day.
DeleteWhat do you think about Sony making an R-rated Kraven the Hunter film?
ReplyDeleteIt all depends on the finished product. Impossible to judge these things in advance.
