How's this for a short post? Click here for a preview of the second issue of The Adventures of Augusta Wind, out this coming Wednesday, December 5th—courtesy of IDW Publishing. Okay, you can go enjoy your weekend now.
Hey JM, my copy of The Life And Times Of Savior 28 was delivered yesterday. I read volume 1 so far.
I first thought about comparing it to The Dark Knight then I thought of Watchmen's Comedian character's life, but as the story progresses, I found that "The Savior 28" is more of a tragic hero and his life a vehicle to draw a portrait of the 20th and early 21th centuries.
While it is still a super heroes comics, it is far more grounded on realism than the Dark Knight and unlike Watchmen, your portrait is more favorable to the super-heroes, as in your vision, they would have to bear a a great burden but would still have some decency and ethics.
The on off narrative is spectacular and carries a ton of political and social criticism that really amazed me. I have read still volume one though. But already liked it a lot. Superb art. Cavallaro is a kickin' a** artist.
Yeah does not sound likely honestly thinking... :-( Anyways, Amazon started today to sell kindle books in Brazil. This is the good news. Bad news, the kindle price is still kind of prohibitive to guys like me :-)
